On New Year’s Eve this year, be transported to a world of magic as Texas Hill Country Opera & Arts produces the Fourth Annual New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball, Die Fledermaus, at the New Braunfels Civic Center, 375 S. Castell Ave, in New Braunfels, Texas.
Folks are invited to dust off their festive gowns, tuxedos and dancing shoes, wear their favorite festive apparel, put on their masks and enjoy an evening of musical variety, dancing and great food and drink. Act II of Johann Straus II’s Operetta ,Die Fledermaus,(the bat), a hilarious farce which has been a New Year’s Holiday spectacular since 1874, will be presented by The Texas Hill Country Opera orchestra and chorus and stars Mark and Kara Covey. The evening begins at 7:00 P.M. with cocktails, wine and special beer along with hors d’oeuvres. After strolling the streets of Vienna and enjoying street musicians and dancing, attendees will then graduate into a station dinner that will delight their taste buds and conclude with special Viennese desserts. Dancing will continue all evening and a bubbly New Year’s toast will be enjoyed by all at midnight! The tone for this special masquerade ball of the region will be one of festive holiday excitement and warm hospitality as families,(parents are invited to bring their children),couples, singles and groups will have their identities masked. Everyone pretends to be someone else but only for a little while and everyone has a great time! The cost(inclusive) for the evening is $85.00 for adults and $40.00 for children 12 and under. |
